"Safety Happens BEHIND the Scenes" ™
Our medics will always be on set, on site and on radio - you will not find our medics sat in cars or trailers. Set Medics UK are highly experienced in TV & Film medical cover pre, during and post filming and are very aware of SETIQUETTE.
The key medic is the first medical person hired for a film production and works as the medical department head.
Hired by one of the film’s producers, the key medic is the person who is ultimately responsible for staffing the medical team with the right crew for the job.
This is a job Set Medics UK is perfectly suited for as a company with an extensive staff / contractor base, no job is too large or indeed too small.
The Key Medic is a role with tremendous responsibility and usually reserved for people well known in the industry who have displayed on multiple films the ability to handle the task.
At Set Medics UK we can handle any size unit in any global location.
Set medics are those that are actually assigned to work on set while filming is being done.
They work closely with the stunt coordinators, the onset fire marshal, and the assistant directors. They attend meetings to see exactly how the days film schedule looks, whether or not there are any potential hazardous stunts being performed and what the exact plans are should something go wrong.
Off production medics are the medics working on Prep, Strike or Rehearsal locations.
Set Medics UK only provide UK registered healthcare professionals to cover productions.
We send you highly qualified and experienced security & medical consultants to implement your security / medical plan. With decades of experience in the military, policing and commercial security, our consultants understand exactly what is required to keep you secure in any location, from petty crime hotspots to conflict areas.
All our consultants are retired Tier 1 Operators from US, UK, AUS or French special forces and are highly experienced working with production companies, to enure you stay safe while allowing you to get the project in the can on time.
They act as high Risk Advisors and medical first responders and are kitted to a high level.
We understand that the health and safety of your production crew and cast members are paramount. With the complexity of film sets and the inherent risks involved, our team of UK-registered healthcare professionals is dedicated to catering to your medical needs and ensuring a safe working environment for everyone involved.
Our approach is holistic; we believe in nurturing both the physical and mental health of your production team. Each member of our medical staff is not just highly skilled in emergency care but is also trained in mental health first aid. This dual focus ensures that we are equipped to address any situation that may arise, from minor injuries to critical health concerns, while also providing support for the emotional well-being of your crew.
The preparation stage is one of many areas where we excel, working in tandem with your production team to conduct thorough risk assessments. We delve into your filming schedule, strategize for stunts, and set up systems to deliver prompt, efficient medical attention when needed. Our medics are committed to proactivity and preparedness, offering reassurance that health considerations are seamlessly integrated into your production's workflow.
On-site, our professionals continue to shine by providing swift, appropriate medical responses to both anticipated and unforeseen incidents. Their presence allows you to concentrate on the creative aspects, safe in the knowledge that your set is a secure space under our watchful care.
One of the jobs of our set medics is to keep your production on track - lost hours or event days due to unwell cast or crew, time off to get to see a GP is near impossible while filming but our clients don't need to worry as we can provide same day private appointments and prescription to your phone if needed without any interuption to filming.
In conclusion, Set Medics UK offers more than just medical support; we offer peace of mind. Our commitment to ensuring the health and mental well-being of your team means that you can focus on bringing your creative vision to life, aware that a comprehensive safety infrastructure is in place.
Trust us to be the guardians of health on your set.
Having specialist 4x4 stretcher capable ambulance vehicles to ensure compliance with Sec19 of the RTA on our fleet is very important as it allows us to access patients that are not next to a road or other suitable access point within your event.
If your event is off road, in a field or along a muddy track then we can still get to your patrons and assist them when needed.
For more inaccesible locations we have partnered with specialists in off road vehicles.

At GWAS™ / Set Medics UK™
We have HDU ambulances ready to support your event.
We only use modern vehicles normally less than 5 years old and are fully kitted to NHS levels to look after any patients at your event while they undergo clinical assessment.
In the event of urgent life threatening injury or illness they can be transported direct to hospital without waiting for NHS response.

Mark Milsome was a talented, respected and much loved camera operator who died on set, behind his camera when a car stunt went tragically wrong in Ghana in November 2017. The Mark Milsome Foundation launched one year later with 4,000 cast, crew and productions worldwide wearing Black Foundation T-Shirts to mark the anniversary. www.markmilsomefoundation.com
